I'm sick! I don´t have the patience for anything, that's why I haven´t posted here. And so I apologize, but I promise to make up for the weekend! I'll find time between works and study that I have to do. This top was offered to me by a cousin who had no idea that I was creating a blog. And I have a surprise! The first tutorial The Golden Soul is coming! But I won´t reveal what it is, you will have to come to the blog to see.
And I let you a song of Kaiser Chiefs, one of my favorite live bands, On the Run!
When I saw a post from Andy Torres on her first designer bag, I decided to make one too. This bag has a different meaning for me and unique, it was given to me by my mother (and has over 25 years!). And of course, it´s my favorite bag. And, being me, a person who loves basics, this bag is perfect for me. It's a real lady's purse, it has all in there! This white shirt was also my mother. I always find amazing stuff in her closet.
Nothing gives me more pleasure than writing a post to music. So whenever you do, I'll post it on the blog. So you can get to know my music taste. Today I leave you with MUSE, "Madness."
It's weekend! At least for me, I have no classes on Friday. And as I have an extra day, it is clear that I will take it to rest! Right now, I'm writing for the blog and watching a Harry Potter movie (Potterhead here). And I feel so relaxed right now! And it shows in my clothes. The rain decided to come to these parts, unfortunately. Goodbye summer clothing!
I am tired! Classes have just begun but I feel already a huge desire to go on (again) holidays. It can not be. I have to get energy, but it is not always easy when you are not taking the course of dream. But that's a story for another day. Today I feel like a nerd. Only because I am wearing similar nerd glasses. Yeah, silly me. I'm wearing my floral pants, again. Every time I look at all my pants, these are the ones that catch my eyes and I love the comfort they give me, especially when I have a thousand things to do during the day. And by the way, my day was crazy. Between classes, work and gatherings with friends, now I have to take pictures almost everyday for the blog. Do not think the day should have 30 hours instead of 24?
And here I am writing a new post. And looking at my bag. Yes, the weekend is over and is time to pack again. It’s the routine I have to get used to. And I hate routines. But it’s life.
I am, in fact, wearing my favorite pieces all at once so I love this look. My wedge sneakers, my recent finding, the top with the tearing in a skull shape and my favorite jeans. This weekend I found amazing pants. H&M has the most beautiful collection of all kinds of pants and they’re cheap. I bought the most gorgeous pair and I fell completely for them. I’ll show them here eventually! Oh and I found the basic V neck that I wanted so badly. I’ve been looking for it like a maniac. Or it was the wrong gray, or the wrong cut that didn’t look good. And I had an extra, it was on sale!!! It only cost 2.99 EUR on Zara. I almost died with excitement.
Something that has been making me really happy is the fact that the blog has been receiving such caring comments. That makes want to always give my best to be up to the expectations. So, thank you so much for caring about my blog and making me feel welcomed in the blogosphere.
What a sunny day it was! I’m not the type of person that likes to lie on the beach and get sun burns so that my skin can get a little tanned. I rather go for walks on the beach with my friends (the only problem is that instead of a bikini tan line I get a top and shorts tan line). I don’t even know why I got out of the house wearing a blazer, two minutes after I was taking it off because I was so hot. But I couldn’t help it; it looked good with the outfit. I remember perfectly the day when I bought these sandals and it was a couple of years ago. I was in hurry to catch a train in Porto when I look to my left and spot these sandals in the window of the store. It was love at first sight, did not think twice and I got in to try them and buy them. My problem was that I really had to catch that train, I had to be in Braga at a certain hour and I couldn’t be late. I ran so much but the thing is I caught that train. A happy ending.
I was sad that I couldn’t post my look on the first day of school. I forgot my camera at home (stupid), and in reality I felt like shopping. And when I say shopping I mean a shopping marathon! And what amazing things I found on sale! I was really with what I found specially the black boots that I showed you yesterday.
To make up for not publishing anything yesterday, here it goes what I wore to college yesterday. Nothing too flashy, neutral colors (with my favorite pants), a loose and comfortable top. I just changed the shoes, I have to a walk a long distance to get to the university so I chose a pair of red sands with a bow. Keeping things simple is my motto, less is more.
It looks like I’m in a mood of wearing neon on my tops. But is in fact a trend that caught people that have a bold style and are not afraid to take chances and to be noticed. Yes, because if you wear something neon you can’t go unnoticed. My advice is, to counter balance, don’t wear a lot of pieces that pop at the same time. It’s confusing for who’s looking and can’t put all together in the same style. So wear neon in just an item, everything else should be discrete. Or if you want to wear some more basic, why not wear some neon accessories? A necklace with some bracelets is perfect to take a basic look to the next level.
And there are two days left for my classes to start. I don’t if I should be happy or sad. And the problem isn’t even the classes. I’m going to miss my home, my family, my dog, my friends… But I know that in Aveiro I’ll find other things, my freedom, my friends from there, knowledge. My heart is spilt in two. It’s going to cost but what awaits me is also really good!
Neon Flamingos! When I saw this top I couldn't resist and I had to buy it, not only for its price but also because it was a basic with a neon touch. As you know a great look resides on the details. It's the type of outfit that I easily wear to go out for coffee with my friends or a shopping marathon. It can adapt to a lot of situations.
Today I'm finally going to see if I find the glasses I want to. I've been dreaming about them! Cross your fingers.
I'm already starting my countdown for the days left to go to Aveiro. I don't how I am going to do most things for the blog but I'm sure I can count on with the amazing people that will help me in everything they can!
Neon Flamingos!
I was wearing:
Necklace: Mango Touch
Thank god it’s Friday! Such a good expression for today. It is indeed Friday (yey!) and it’s to go out with my friends. Nothing like a night out to make up for the week. So I decided to show the appropriate outfit to wear, keeping in mind the place of course. But since I usually go to clubs with a certain dress code, I usually wear a really feminine dress, but comfortable, I hate to spend the night fixing my clothes. Heels are mandatory but a pair of ballet shoes is advised in case the heels start to hurt your feet. A clutch is elegant in any occasion and indispensable when going out, practical, small, but always trendy. When it comes to make-up, I’ve never been a fan of heavy make-up. I rather just wear a little foundation, mascara, pink blush and I make an exception for the lips, I let them with a heavy color. And there it is a complete look that doesn’t take a lot of effort or production.
As I mentioned yesterday, I went shopping. I bought a few basic tops. I couldn’t find anything that I liked either in model or in price. Or maybe I wasn’t just in the mood to shop. And I didn’t found the glasses that I wanted. But I know I will find them!
Something very different from what I normally wear. I was looking at the American flag and I thought: can I create a look inspired in it? And I was right! Something red: the pants. Something blue: the top. Something white: the sneakers (I have been discovering tennis shoes I didn’t remember I had). And of course the detail of the stamped flag on the top. So today I felt like a walking flag. And I liked it. It’s an easy, comfortable look but it can’t be worn by everyone. A look like this demands to know how to wear it. And right now I’m really close to a nervous breakdown. One of those that make me want to throw my computer through the window. Here was I so happy to create a lookbook, to increase the publicity of the blog, when I try to put the link it just stays on the wrong place, so I end up having an hyperlink to lookbook in the end of my page when it should be at the end of each post. I accept suggestions to fix my problem! Looking on the bright side I have a lookbook! Check it out: www.lookbook.nu/thegoldensoul
Today I’m going to go shopping. I’ve looking for some nerd glasses for the beginning of college but I haven’t found a pair that I really liked or that looked good on me (problems of people with small faces). Tomorrow I’ll show the outcome of my shopping trip.
Since I like basics, of course with the right accessories, I don’t fall into monotony. It’s just those little things that make a dull look come to life. Giving by example, the pants and the glasses pop out, and the top and the shoes are pretty basic. A combo that I advise using in a school/university context. Practical, comfortable but fashionable like always. Don’t be afraid to wear things that you normally don’t see on other people, wear what you like and how you like it. Don’t let anyone influence you to wear things you don’t like or that don’t go with you personality! Be who you want to and let your style show it.
To start I apologize for not being here. But in my defense these last few days have been, to say the least, complete madness. As I had already told you, in no time I’m gonna be at Aveiro and I’m only going to be home for the weekend. Long story short, I’ll barely see my friends from around here… So I have to enjoy them while I can! Coffees, trips to the beach, going out at night that leaves us feeling like zombies and midnight swims on the pool, I had little time to take pictures, let alone write. But I promise that this week I’m going to commit to this and show you amazing things. I’ve been preparing some surprises for the blog! I was so sorry for not being able to publish anything these days, but I haven’t been doing anything out of the ordinary, they were just amazing days with the best company I could have. As always, instead of writing about fashion, clothes or stuff like I always end up talking about my life. The dress that I’m wearing in these pictures is my favorite, ever. And of course it had to be coral. I’ve never seen a dress that I have fallen in love as deeply as this one. And it was my prom dress (good times) and it wasn’t even that expensive. Mango, Spring-Summer, last year. Has you may have noticed, I like loose fabrics. I think they give a certain elegance to the movement. But that’s just my opinion.
